Good questions, straight answers
Building your story and drawing your cover are free. The rest of the comic is drawn after you order.
See full pricingWhat does a comic cost?
The digital comic is $25. A printed copy is $49.99 and includes the digital issue, with the price per copy falling as you order more. Nothing is charged while you build the story and the cover.
What kinds of stories can it be?
Almost anything. Make them a superhero, a detective, a space explorer or the lead in a romance, or tell something true: how you met, a family legend, their life so far. You choose how closely it sticks to what really happened.
Do I pay to create the story and cover?
No. You enter the details, pick a story, and we draw your real cover — no payment information needed. You decide afterwards whether to buy the comic.
What happens to the photos I add?
Photos are uploaded to our storage on Amazon Web Services in the United States and kept with your comic, because they are what holds a character looking like the same character from page to page and what lets a later issue match the first. We use them to draw your comic and nothing else, we never use photos of identifiable people in our own marketing without asking, and we will delete them on request at hello@obbo.me.
Can I order a printed comic?
Yes. Printed copies are inspected by us before they ship and delivered inside the United States in about two weeks. Runs above 50 copies are quoted individually, and if you need delivery to another country, email us the country and we will tell you when we can ship there.
Can I change the story?
Yes. Choose another direction, adjust the tone, edit the title and synopsis yourself, or start the comic again. Nothing is drawn until you say go, and nothing is printed that you have not approved.
Will it look like the real people?
Every page is drawn from your story and your reference photos. It aims for a recognizable likeness, with artistic differences. Your free cover is drawn exactly the same way, so what you see on it is how the rest of the comic will look.
See the cover before you pay a thing
Build the story, pick the style, and see your real cover, drawn free. The rest of the comic is drawn once you order.
